Data Platform Engineer

Data is the driving force of insight and decision making and major organisations are investing heavily to ensure they are in position to leverage the data they have access to.

The increase in demand has seen this organisation grow their Data and Analytics capability to over 100 curious, data driven professionals, and they are continuing to grow.

They are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Data Platform Engineer with a deep understanding of building data focused platforms and exposure to some of the following tools and techniques:

- Azure, AWS or Google Cloud

- Enterprise data pipelines/ ETL

- Hadoop, NoSQL databases (ideally Neo4j or Elastic) and Sprak Streaming

- Data manipulation

- Automation, DevOps and continuous integration tools - Docker, Kubernetes, Swarm, Vagrant, Virtualbox, Jenkins, Concourse or Ansible

Data Engineering is an expansive area of technology, and as such no one is expected to know everything. However, the business are looking for individuals who can question, assess and determine the best tools and technology choices and display an eagerness to learn what's necessary to do the job.

This is a hugely customer focused environment, and you will be given the opportunity to work alongside some of the largest organisations in multiple different industries. As such, you should feel comfortable presenting and talking tech to both technical and non-technical individuals.

In the Data Platform Engineer role you will gain insight and experience in new technologies and have an impact on how data is utilised, as well as gain a solid understanding of the challenges organisations face in this space.

It is crucial you are keen to engage directly with customers, as you will be working closely with business across the UK. As such, a willingness to travel during the working week is required.
